Why should I use Colour Undo?

Colour Undo is a safe, gentle and easy-to-do colour remover that you can use from the comfort of your home. Designed to work in conjunction with all high street and professional colour brands*, Colour Undo lets you restore your hair to its natural shine without the fear of damage in two simple steps: Removal followed by rinsing and buffing.

*Do not use on bleached hair or Henna dye, including herbal and plant-based.

How do I use Colour Undo?

Colour Undo offers such a simple process that you can do it yourself at home. Follow our step-by-step guide below so you can successfully perform this process every time you want to remove your colour. For longer hair, it may require two applications.

  1. Step One
Mix equal amounts of the Activator and Remover (approx. 50ml of each) using the measuring bottles provided in your pack.

  2. Step Two
Saturate the mixture onto your dry hair using a tint bowl and brush. Make sure your hair doesn’t dry out during this stage and cover it with a plastic head cap. To protect your face from the liquid, put cotton wool around the hairline. Leave the mixture to develop for up to 60 minutes or to your desired result (for some, it can be done within 10 minutes) and rinse out with warm water for 5 minutes.

  3. Step Three
Rinse out the formula from step 2 with warm water for 5 minutes. Lather approximately 25ml of the Buffer in your hair. Leave in for 1 minute and rinse out with warm water for 5 minutes.

  4. Step Four
Repeat step 3. Your Colour Undo process is now finished!

Do I need to perform a patch test before using Colour Undo?

Yes. You should perform a patch test 48 hours before you use Colour Undo. To do this, mix a pea-sized amount of the Activator with the Remover from the Colour Undo Pack. Using a cotton bud or tissue, apply a dab of the mixed product behind your ear. Make sure it’s removed after 24 hours with water and a cleanser.

If you get skin irritation or an allergic reaction, remove immediately and do not conduct a Colour Undo application.

Is Colour Undo vegan?

Yes! Colour Undo is 100% vegan and never tested on animals.

Does Colour Undo have any limitations?

You need to consider the history of your hair colouring before you use Colour Undo as it will only remove artificial pigments from your hair. If your hair has been through high lifting tinting or bleaching, it won’t be possible to restore your natural hair colour pigment by using Colour Undo as it has been lightened and altered. It is crucial to know what previous chemical colouration was used.

How often can I use Colour Undo?

You can apply Colour Undo as much as you need to without damaging your hair.

Can I colour hair immediately after using Colour Undo?

You can colour your hair immediately after using Colour Undo, but be aware that colorants contain ammonia and bleach which cause damage your scalp and hair if over-used.

What makes Colour Undo different to other colour removers?

Traditional removal services such as colour strips can cause potential damage to your hair as well as uneven results. Colour Undo is designed to keep your hair luscious and shiny during the removal process with its easy to mix formula infused with nourishing Argan oil. Another element that makes Colour Undo unique to others is you can perform your colour technique on the same day you remove your colour.

Will Colour Undo work with specific colour brands?

Colour Undo is an independent brand. This means their colour remover can be used in conjunction with any colour brand you use. However, it won’t work with Henna dyes or hair that has been bleached or lightened.

Why might I need to remove my hair colour?

Colour removal is an essential part of a colour process depending on your hair’s condition and the results you want. Some of the techniques where removal may be required include:

  • • Removal of colour build-up
  • • Dull highlights
  • • DIY disasters
